This tutorial details how to achieve the simple “starburst” effect using inkscape. The method in this tutorial shows how to do this by manually creating clones and rotating them, which is not the most efficient way to achieve this effect. Check out the Official Inkscape Tutorial, “Tips and Tricks” for how to use Tiled Clones to make this effect quicker and easier to achieve.

Thanks for posting my tutorial. I know there is an easier way to do this, and I should have pointed that option out. I’ve made an update to the posts as a result. However, I was aiming for users that are just trying to get situated with the tools. Bringing radial placement with tiled clones might scare some people off, plus it’s already included with InkScape under tips and tricks as you point out.
