Here is an awesome, detailed, step-by-step on drawing a side-view 2d helicopter by Chris Hildenbrand. Chris’ tutorials yield some impressive results, however they are aimed at intermediate inkscape users.

Thanks for the post… This helicopter tutorial is probably the most complex object in my posts so far… If you go back to the earlier / earliest posts it’s very much a beginners level – fun with circles and squares.
